Tabitha widows ministry

Many of the widows face common problems related to rejection and shame from the society and even in church to some extent. They walk with labels round their neck condemning them. Many lose property and wealth from their husband’s families and end up going back to their maternal homes where they face further rejection from other family members.

The homes they can call home are hostile and many get kicked out to find rental houses to start life again with their poor children. This lifestyle brings up another generation of kids who are bitter and some end up in drugs and alcohol abuse. Many of the widows being old have health problems like cancer, anemia, diabetes and hypertension.

Many of the widows in our community struggle to cater for their welfare and the needs of their children and grandchildren. This is a pressing issue that affects numerous households. In line with Paul's direction to Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:9, where only widows over 60 years are listed for help, we strive to apply biblical wisdom in serving those truly in need.
Tabitha ministry ensures that poor widows receive meals once a week and, whenever donations are available, they go home with essentials like flour and cooking oil. We bring widows together on specific days for fellowship, free medical checkups, and food donations. Through the support of Tabitha Foundation, hundreds of widows have been shown the love of Christ and are able to live with dignity and hope. This is not just charity—it’s ministry through love and compassion.
